Music & Fashion: A Fisher College Visual Merchandising Event

Fisher College recently held a visual merchandising display contest open to the public that had students, faculty, families and guests flowing in through the doors on April 15th, 2015. Orchestrated by Professor Susan Mullins, the student competitors (who are in Fisher’s fashion merchandising program) were separated into seven groups and given the theme of "Music & Fashion".

European Men’s Fashion in Boston

European menswear trends, bold patterns, vibrant colors are taking the Boston area by storm, and we love it!

Currently, men in the Boston area are raving about the European fashion trend that appears to be spreading like wildfire. This trend features clothes that are slim, snug fitting, and sleek. When speaking with a menswear retail manager in the Back Bay area, she stated,“Men come in and ask for their slim suits to be taken in even further.”

If a curious reader wants to observe how this style is affecting men in the downtown work place or near-by colleges in Boston, they need to do nothing more than stand in line at the local Starbucks on Berkeley Street during the morning rush hour.

Colleges in Boston Enjoy Fashion Week

Colleges in Boston are enjoying the last few days of Fashion Week, which ends tomorrow...or does it?

Boston Fashion Week, which officially kicked off October 5th and will continue until the 11th, has enjoyed a good run this year, successfully honoring the late Marilyn Riseman, a fashion legend in our city. Many designers and event producers kept one front row seat open as a tribute to Marilyn Riseman's lifetime commitment to the art of fashion and her tireless support of Boston's creative community.

Fisher College DAPS

Division of Accelerated & Professional Studies

Fisher College first opened its doors in 1903 in the predominantly working-class city of Somerville, Massachusetts, just two miles north of Boston. The school was founded on the belief that the immigrants of that city should have an opportunity to advance beyond unskilled labor jobs.

The Division of Accelerated and Professional Studies was established in 1975 to serve the adult population of Eastern Massachusetts, with branch locations in:

  • Boston
  • Brockton
  • North Attleborough
  • New Bedford

The Fisher Online division began in 1998, and currently serves students from all over the United States and around the world.
